- 2 cups cornmeal
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1 cup boiling water
- 2/3 cup whole milk
Recipe
- 1 mix thoroughly, cook in hot cast iron skillet, with small amount of grease, on top of stove for 3 minutes. finish cooking in hot oven (500 degrees) for 13 minutes, then brown under broiler.
