Hot Water Corn Bread

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 cups cornmeal
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 2/3 cup whole milk

Recipe

  • 1 mix thoroughly, cook in hot cast iron skillet, with small amount of grease, on top of stove for 3 minutes. finish cooking in hot oven (500 degrees) for 13 minutes, then brown under broiler.
