Houskove Knedliky (bun-dumplings)

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb farina (or flour)
  • 2 cups lukewarm water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 -3 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 5 large old hot dog buns, horns or bread

Recipe

  • 1 first, cut (old) buns, horns or bread into small croutons.
  • 2 if fresh,toast or fry so they are crisp.
  • 3 select the best farina or flour you can get.
  • 4 mix water, milk, eggs, and salt, keep adding farina until dough is smooth and makes bubbles and doesn't stick to the bowl.
  • 5 mix in croutons.
  • 6 divide into 4 parts, form uplong ball dumplings.
  • 7 let set for about 30 minutes.
  • 8 place into salty boiling water, cook for about 25 minutes.
  • 9 cut with string.
