Never Fail Yeast Rolls

Total Time: 2 hrs 15 mins Preparation Time: 2 hrs Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 (1/4 ounce) package active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups water (110-115 degrees)
  • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 (9 ounce) package yellow cake mix or 1 (9 ounce) package cake mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • melted butter or margarine

Recipe

  • 1 in a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.
  • 2 beat in the flour, dry cake mix and salt (do not knead). **when mixing if too dry you might want to add 1-2 tablespoons more of water at a time until you can get dough thoroughly mixed.
  • 3 place in a greased bowl.
  • 4 cover and let rise in a warm place until doubles, about 1 hour.
  • 5 punch dough down.
  • 6 divide dough in half.
  • 7 flour the surface where you are going to roll the dough out.
  • 8 roll each portion into a 12 inch circle.
  • 9 cut each circle into 12 wedges.
  • 10 roll up, beginning at the wide end.
  • 11 place point side down on greased baking sheets.
  • 12 brush with butter.
  • 13 cover and let rise until doubled, about 25 minutes.
  • 14 bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
