Mom's Southern Style Cornbread

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 3
  • 1 cup cornmeal (i prefer lilly buttermilk cornmeal)
  • 2/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1/8 cup water
  • 1/8 cup butter

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 425.
  • 2 mix all ingredients except for butter.
  • 3 once oven is preheated, melt butter in a small cast iron skillet on high setting, swirl butter to coat sides of pan.
  • 4 quickly mix melted butter in cornmeal mixture.
  • 5 immediately pour mixture in skillet and bake for 20 minutes,.
