Grandma's Rolls

Total Time: 2 hrs 55 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs 25 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/8 cup warm water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 (1/4 ounce) package yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Recipe

  • 1 scald the milk, then add the sugar, salt, butter and let cool.
  • 2 in seperate bowl mix luke warm water, yeast and 1 tablespoons sugar.
  • 3 stir yeast mixture into cooled milk.
  • 4 add beaten egg to the milk mixture and mix in flour, do not knead.
  • 5 put dough in zip lock bag and put in refrigerator overnight.
  • 6 the next day, roll dough out and cut into triangles, about 3 inches at the base and 5 inches high.
  • 7 roll the triangle from the base to the tip and put on baking sheet to rise for about 1.5 hours.
  • 8 bake at 350 for 12 to 18 minutes, or until lightly browned.
