Ingredients

- 2 cups flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup shortening (butter-flavored crisco)
- 3/4 cup milk
Recipe
- 1 heat oven to 475 degrees.
- 2 sift together flour, baking powder, and the salt.
- 3 cut in the shortening until coarse.
- 4 add milk. blend lightly until moistened and it pulls away from the bowl.
- 5 knead for a minute or so until the dough is soft and looks a little like bread dough. let it rest for a few minutes.
- 6 roll out on a floured surface to about 3/4 inch thick (or thicker if you like).
- 7 place on baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes.
