Light And Tasty Biscuits

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup shortening (butter-flavored crisco)
  • 3/4 cup milk

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 475 degrees.
  • 2 sift together flour, baking powder, and the salt.
  • 3 cut in the shortening until coarse.
  • 4 add milk. blend lightly until moistened and it pulls away from the bowl.
  • 5 knead for a minute or so until the dough is soft and looks a little like bread dough. let it rest for a few minutes.
  • 6 roll out on a floured surface to about 3/4 inch thick (or thicker if you like).
  • 7 place on baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes.
