Morning Maple Muffins
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, melted
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons nuts, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
- 2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine, cold
Recipe
- 1 in a large bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, baking powder and salt. in another bowl, combine the milk, butter, syrup, sour cream, egg and vanilla.
- 2 stir into the dry ingredients just until moistened.
- 3 fill greased or paper-lined muffin cups two-thirds full.
- 4 for topping, combine the flour, sugar, nuts and cinnamon; cut in butter until crumbly.
- 5 sprinkle over batter.
- 6 bake at 400 f for 16-20 minutes or until muffins test done. cool for 5 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks.
