Devonshire Splits

Ingredients
- 5 ounces milk
- 2 cups unbleached bread flour
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon fast rising yeast
- powdered sugar (for dusting)
- heavy whipped cream
- jam
Recipe
- 1 place ingredients in bread maker according to manufacturer's directions.
- 2 set on dough setting.
- 3 grease two baking sheets.
- 4 when dough cycle is finished place dough on lightly floured surface and punch back. divide into 8 portions. shape each into a ball and place on baking sheets. flatten the tops slightly. cover with lightly with oiled plastic wrap and let rise 30- 45 minutes.
- 5 preheat oven to 425 degrees. bake 15 to 18 minutes until golden.
- 6 split and fill with whipped cream and jam.
- 7 dust with sugar before serving.
