Old Fashioned Cornbread

Ingredients

  • Servings: 16
  • 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups cornmeal
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 3 tablespoons butter

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • 2 sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. stir in cornmeal. combine eggs. buttermilk and melted butter. add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients, stirring only until smooth. turn into well greased 8 x 8 inch pan. bake for 25 minutes.
