Easy Baked Bannock *revised*

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 14
  • 6 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 1/2 cups warm water

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375°f.
  • 2 mix all dry ingredients in a bowl; make a well in the middle and add wet ingredients.
  • 3 mix all ingredients together until a soft consistency not sticky *tip* if you need to add more water or flour then do so.
  • 4 *tip*try not to over work the bannock as it comes out much softer and fluffier with less work.
  • 5 flatten bannock about 1 inch thick and place on cookie sheet.
  • 6 prick with fork all over.
  • 7 bake for 15 minutes on each side depending on how brown you want it.
  • 8 cool for 10 minutes and slice into squares.
  • 9 slice each piece in half and add butter, jam or your favourite topping.
  • 10 enjoy!
