Irish Soda Bread

Ingredients

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon caraway seed
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 2 cups buttermilk
Recipe
- 1 mix all the dry ingredients together.
- 2 add the buttermilk and stir just until all the flour is moistened.
- 3 turn out onto a floured board and knead approximately one minute.
- 4 place on a floured baking sheet.
- 5 cut a deep cross in the bread with a sharp knife.
- 6 bake at 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes until crust is deep brown and the center is cooked. (200 degrees internal temperature.).
