Oatmeal Bannock (low Fat)

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 9
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup butter or 1/3 cup margarine
  • 1/3 cup low-fat milk

Recipe

  • 1 combine flour, oats, baking powder, sugar and salt. with pastry knife cut in cold butter until crumbs are size of peas.
  • 2 pour in milk and mix quickly just until dry ingredients are moistened.
  • 3 turn dough onto lightly floured board; knead 3 - 5 times. pat out dough to about 3/4" thickness. cut into rounds with a 2" cutter.
  • 4 bake on parchment or ungreased sheet at 425 for 12 - 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
