Irish Raisin Bread

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 3 1/2-4 cups flour
  • 3 -4 teaspoons baking powder (1 teaspoon for every cup flour)
  • grain salt
  • table sugar
  • 2 cups milk
  • 15 ounces raisins
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 3 tablespoons butter

Recipe

  • 1 sift the flour, baking soda, and salt together.
  • 2 add the raisins to the mixture and dredge, break up the raisins and rub them to get them coated in the flour mixture.
  • 3 pour milk and egg into the middle of the mixture, stir, add 3 tbl melted butter.
  • 4 mix well, put the mixture into a 9" round pan for baking. sprinkle top generously with sugar.
  • 5 bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
