Cornbread For Dressing

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups yellow cornmeal
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 3 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cups buttermilk, room temp
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- 2 butter 8" square dish.
- 3 whisk cornmeal, salt, sugar, and bakin gbowder in large bowl.
- 4 whisk together eggs, buttermilk, and butter in medium bowl.
- 5 add egg mixture to cornmeal mix, and stir.
- 6 pour batter into prepared baking dish.
- 7 bake until golden and, a toothpic comes out clean, about 25 minutes.
- 8 let cool slightly in dish on wire rack.
- 9 run knife around edges of dish to loosen.
- 10 invert.
