Cornbread For Dressing

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups yellow cornmeal
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups buttermilk, room temp
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • 2 butter 8" square dish.
  • 3 whisk cornmeal, salt, sugar, and bakin gbowder in large bowl.
  • 4 whisk together eggs, buttermilk, and butter in medium bowl.
  • 5 add egg mixture to cornmeal mix, and stir.
  • 6 pour batter into prepared baking dish.
  • 7 bake until golden and, a toothpic comes out clean, about 25 minutes.
  • 8 let cool slightly in dish on wire rack.
  • 9 run knife around edges of dish to loosen.
  • 10 invert.
