Perfect Cornbread Sticks

Ingredients
- 1 cup sifted unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup stone-ground yellow cornmeal
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter (soft)
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 425f and place corn stick pans in oven.
- 2 sift flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt into bowl.
- 3 stir in corn meal.
- 4 add eggs, milk, and butter.
- 5 beat with electric hand mixer until just smooth, about one minute, do not over beat.
- 6 grease pans with solid shortening.
- 7 fill pans about 2/3 full.
- 8 bake in hot oven (425 degrees) 12 to 15 minutes.
