Lemon Poppy Seed Scones

Total Time: 22 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 12 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seed
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • sugar

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 425°f.
  • 2 grease cookie sheet.
  • 3 mix flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and poppy seed in a large bowl.
  • 4 cut in butter until mixture is fine crumbs.
  • 5 mix lemon juice and milk, stir into flour mixture until dough forms a ball.
  • 6 turn dough onto lightly floured surface, gently roll in flour to coat.
  • 7 knead lightly 10 times.
  • 8 roll or pat into a 9in circle. sprinkle with sugar.
  • 9 cut into 8 wedges.
  • 10 place on cookie sheet.
  • 11 bake 12-15 mins or until golden brown.
  • 12 immediately remove from cookie sheet.
