Lemon Poppy Seed Scones

- 2 cups flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon poppy seed
- 1/3 cup butter
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 3/4 cup milk
- sugar
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 425°f.
- 2 grease cookie sheet.
- 3 mix flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and poppy seed in a large bowl.
- 4 cut in butter until mixture is fine crumbs.
- 5 mix lemon juice and milk, stir into flour mixture until dough forms a ball.
- 6 turn dough onto lightly floured surface, gently roll in flour to coat.
- 7 knead lightly 10 times.
- 8 roll or pat into a 9in circle. sprinkle with sugar.
- 9 cut into 8 wedges.
- 10 place on cookie sheet.
- 11 bake 12-15 mins or until golden brown.
- 12 immediately remove from cookie sheet.
