Marie Morris's Church Supper Crescent Rolls.

Ingredients
- 1 cup milk, scalded and cooled
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 eggs, well beaten
- 2 (1/4 ounce) packages dry yeast, dissolved in
- 1 teaspoon sugar, and
- 1/4 cup lukewarm water
- 4 1/2 cups flour, sifted (may need more or less depending on humidity)
- herbs (optional) or honey butter, is (optional)
Recipe
- 1 scald milk. cool. add softened butter and salt.
- 2 dissolve yeast and sugar in lukewarm water.
- 3 add flour. may need a little more or less depending on humidity. dough should be sticky.
- 4 let rise 2 hrs in warm draft free location (alternately cover and place in refrigerator overnight).
- 5 when doubled in size, punch down.
- 6 pour onto floured board.
- 7 divide in half and flatten each piece into a round shape.
- 8 if desired spread with additional softened butter (may add herb or honey butter).
- 9 cut into 12 wedge shaped pieces and roll into crescent shape.
- 10 let rise in warm place, free of drafts (about 2 hrs).
- 11 bake 8-10 minute at 400 degrees. brush with more butter while warm.
