Just Plain Bread

Total Time: 3 hrs 25 mins Preparation Time: 3 hrs Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups milk (lukewarm)
  • 4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 teaspoons salt
  • 4 tablespoons butter or 4 tablespoons oil
  • 6 cups all-purpose flour

Recipe

  • 1 add yeast to warm milk and let sit for 5 minutes.
  • 2 add salt sugar and butter.
  • 3 sift in flour.
  • 4 knead well and place somewhere warm for first rise with wet towel over top of the bowl (should double in size).
  • 5 knead and separate into two separate pieces.
  • 6 form into shape appropriate loaf pan.
  • 7 spray loaf pan and with your fist punch into loaf pan.
  • 8 set aside for second rise.
  • 9 bake at 350 for 20 - 25 minutes until crust is golden brown.
  • 10 remove from pan and allow to cool.
