Honey Whole Wheat Bread

Total Time: 3 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 3 hrs

Ingredients

  • 1/4 ounce yeast (1 packet)
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/8 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

Recipe

  • 1 dissolve yeast in warm water.
  • 2 combine butter, molasses, honey and salt and mix well.
  • 3 add yeast mix and gradually add the flours.
  • 4 knead until smooth.
  • 5 place in an oiled bowl and let rise until double (about 2 hours).
  • 6 punch down and let the dough rest for about 5 minutes.
  • 7 divide the dough in half and shape into loaves.
  • 8 place the loaves in greased pans and let rise for about 1 hour.
  • 9 bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
