Honey Nut Sticky Buns

Ingredients

- 2 (1/4 ounce) packages active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water (110 - 115)
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Recipe
- 1 in a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in water.
- 2 add eggs, sugar, butter, salt and vanilla; mix well.
- 3 add 2 cups of flour; beat until smooth.
- 4 stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
- 5 turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes.
- 6 place in a greased bowl; turn once to grease top.
- 7 cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 1/2 hours.
- 8 in a saucepan, combine brown sugar, honey, butter and salt; bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
- 9 boil for 1 minute.
- 10 pour into a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan; sprinkle with pecans.
- 11 set aside.
- 12 punch dough down.
- 13 turn onto a lightly floured surface; roll into a 24 x 8 inch rectangle; brush with butter to within 1 inch of edges.
- 14 combine the pecans, brown sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over butter.
- 15 roll up from long side; seal seam.
- 16 cut into 1 inch slices; place cut side down in pan.
- 17 cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
- 18 bake at 350°f for 25-28 minutes or until golden brown.
- 19 cool 1 minute; invert onto a serving platter.
