Dilled Oat Bread

Total Time: 2 hrs 35 mins Preparation Time: 2 hrs Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons dried yeast
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups buckwheat flour
  • 1 1/2 cups wholemeal flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons dill seeds

Recipe

  • 1 dissolve 1 tsp sugar in water and sprinkle yeast over, leave in a warm place until frothy.
  • 2 blend together cheese, onion, butter, salt, eggs and the remaining sugar. set aside.
  • 3 mix flour with oats and pour in yeast liquid, stir in cheese mixture & dill seeds. knead until smooth.
  • 4 place dough in a warm, greased bowl and cover with a damp tea-towel. leave dough in a warm place until doubled in size.
  • 5 knock back dough & in a 1.5l casserole, cover & let rise to double again.
  • 6 heat the oven to 180.c and bake loaf for 35 mins or until cooked.
