Date Toffee Scones

Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 2/3 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup pitted dates, chopped
- 1/2 cup skor english toffee bit
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 425f and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2 in a large mixing bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. using a pastry cutter or two knives, cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse meal. add remaining ingredients and stir until just barely moistened. turn out onto a clean surface and knead until dough is smooth.
- 3 divide dough into two equal parts. shape each part into a 3/4" thick circle; using a sharp knife, score the dough into five wedges. place on prepared baking sheet and bake in preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until light golden brown.
