Drop Scones

Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup evaporated milk
Recipe
- 1 sift together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- 2 using a food processor, pulse in the shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal.
- 3 stir in the evaporated milk just until mixed.
- 4 line a baking sheet with parchment.
- 5 drop scone-size scoops (1 oz) onto the parchment. if desired, apply an egg glaze, or sprinkle tops with granulated sugar.
- 6 place tray of scones in the freezer. preheat oven to 425°f once preheated, transfer the scones directly to the top oven rack.
- 7 bake 10-12 minutes.
