Oatmeal Scones

Ingredients
- Servings: 8
- 2/3 cup butter, melted
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/4 cups quick oats, uncooked (or 1 1/2 c. old fashioned oats)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup raisins or 1/2 cup currants
Recipe
- 1 in a large bowl, combine dry ingredients: flour, oats, sugar, baking powder, cream of tarter and salt.
- 2 in a small bowl, combine wet ingredients: butter,milk and egg,
- 3 add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix, only until moist.
- 4 add raisins (or currents).
- 5 shape into a ball.
- 6 pat out on a lightly floured board into an 8 inch circle.
- 7 cut into 8-12 wedges.
- 8 bake on a greased cookie sheet in a 425 degree oven for 12-15 minutes or until brown.
