Gingerbread

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2/3 cup unsulphured molasses
- 2/3 cup milk
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
- 2 grease and flour a 9 x 5" loaf pan.
- 3 in a bowl, measure the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ginger and cinnamon; set aside.
- 4 in a mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugars until light and fluffy on medium speed. beat in the egg and continue beating until combined.
- 5 combine the molasses and milk in a small bowl. remove the butter mixture from the mixer. alternate adding the flour and milk mixtures to the butter mixture. fold the batter together with a rubber spatula.
- 6 pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan. bake for approximately 50 minutes or until done. let cool in pan.
