Gingerbread

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 5 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup water, hot from the tap
- 2 eggs
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees. grease a 9 inch square baking pan.
- 2 in a bowl stir together flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and pepper.
- 3 in a large bowl mix together the melted butter and molasses.
- 4 stir in the water until well mixed.
- 5 add the eggs and mix to combine.
- 6 add the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- 7 pour into greased baking pan and bake for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
