Fat Free Biscuits

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 2 cups unbleached flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 3/4 cup nonfat plain yogurt
  • 1/3 cup water or 1/3 cup milk

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 450 degrees.
  • 2 mix together the dry ingredients in a bowl.
  • 3 cut in the yogurt until like coarse crumbs.
  • 4 add water or milk all at once.
  • 5 stir quickly with fork just until dough starts to stick together.
  • 6 lay dough on lightly floured surface.
  • 7 (dough will be soft).
  • 8 knead gently 10 to 12 strokes.
  • 9 roll or pat dough to 1/2-inch thick.
  • 10 dip biscuit cutter in flour; cut dough straight down.
  • 11 bake on foiled baking sheet for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • 12 makes approximately 10 to 12 biscuits.
