Irish Brown Bread

Ingredients
- 4 cups wheat flour
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 cups buttermilk
Recipe
- 1 preheat the oven to 400°f.
- 2 mix dry ingredients.
- 3 stir in enough buttermilk to make the dough soft.
- 4 dust the work surface with wheat flour. knead the dough until smooth.
- 5 form dough into a circle about 1 1/2 inches thick.
- 6 mark a deep cross in the top with a floured knife.
- 7 put on parchment paper and place on a baking sheet.
- 8 bake for 45 minutes or until bread is browned and sounds hollow when tapped on the base.
- 9 cool on a wire rack and wrap in a clean tea towel to keep soft.
