Heirloom Brown Bread

Total Time: 1 hr 25 mins Preparation Time: 40 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup unbleached flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 cup pitted dates, chopped
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup molasses

Recipe

  • 1 in a large bowl mix all ingredients in order written. let stand at room temperature for 1/2 hour.
  • 2 preheat oven to 350f and grease a large loaf pan. pour bread mix into pan and bake 45-50 minutes.
