Irene's Doughnuts (for Doughnut Maker)

Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, grated
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 5 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
Recipe
- 1 cream eggs and sugar until well blended.
- 2 add vanilla and vinegar and mix well.
- 3 combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.
- 4 combine buttermilk and heavy cream.
- 5 add dry ingredients and buttermilk mixture alternately to sugar mixture.
- 6 put into a donut maker.
- 7 drop into 375ºf. lard.
- 8 fry until brown on one side, flip and fry until the other side is browned.
- 9 remove to paper towels.
