- 10 slices of day-old bread
- 3 eggs, beaten until light
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/3 cup butter (bacon grease is tasty) or 1/3 cup other fat (bacon grease is tasty)

Recipe
- 1 heat the butter or fat in a skillet.
- 2 cut the bread into cubes and brown in melted butter or fat.
- 3 beat eggs and milk together; add salt and pepper.
- 4 pour over bread and fry until brown.
- 5 serve while hot.
