Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/3 cup instant milk
- 1 tablespoon shortening
- 1 tablespoon flax seed
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 tablespoons oat bran
- 2 tablespoons wheat germ
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup vital wheat gluten
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
Recipe
- 1 mix yeast, sugar and 1/4 cup of the water. let sit til bubbly.
- 2 add wet ingredients, then dry ingredients. knead for 15 minutes.
- 3 let rise for about 2 hours.
- 4 punch down and form into a loaf. let rise 1 hour or until doubled.
- 5 bake at 375°f for 35 minutes.
