Fluffy Yeast Biscuits

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 3 cups sifted flour
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 3 tablespoons melted shortening
  • melted butter, for dipping

Recipe

  • 1 dissolve yeast in warm water and let set for 5 minutes.
  • 2 mix together dry ingredients and add yeast mixture.
  • 3 add shortening and mix.
  • 4 roll out 1/4" thick and cut into biscuits.
  • 5 dip in melted butter and place on baking sheet.
  • 6 let rise for 1 1/2 hours.
  • 7 bake at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes.
