Orange Tea Muffins

Total Time: 27 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 12 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar, divided
  • 1/4 cup orange juice, fresh
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon orange rind, grated
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Recipe

  • 1 combine 1/2 cup sugar and orange juice; set aside.
  • 2 cream butter and remaining sugar; blend in sour cream.
  • 3 combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture.
  • 4 beat on low just until ingredients are combined.
  • 5 stir in orange peel, raisins and nuts.
  • 6 spoon batter into greased 1 3/4-inch muffin cups, filling completely full.
  • 7 bake at 375 degrees for about 12 minutes.
  • 8 while still warm, dip each muffin in reserved sugar/orange juice mixture.
