Orange Rolls

Ingredients

- 2 compressed yeast cakes
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup water
- 4 1/2 cups flour
- 1 grated orange rind or 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 sq. butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
Recipe
- 1 dissolve yeast in warm water.
- 2 melt sugar, salt, and butter or margarine in mixing bowl.
- 3 let above mixture cool until luke warm, then add eggs.
- 4 beat until foamy.
- 5 add water.
- 6 mix in flour.
- 7 mix with spoon until well mixed. let rise until double in bulk.
- 8 stir down and put in refrigerator until thoroughly chilled (over night or longer.) keep close watch while in refrigerator so it will not run over.
- 9 roll dough approximately 1/2" thick. spread with orange mixture made from remaining ingredients.
- 10 roll dough up like jelly roll. cut off 1/2" pieces and put in greased muffin tins.
- 11 let rise until double in bulk and bake about 10 minutes at 400.
