Graham Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1 cup graham flour (or 1/2 cup whole wheat and 1/2 cup rye)
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 cup milk

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 450°f.
  • 2 cut shortening into mixed dry ingredients until the mixture is the consistency of dry cornmeal. add the milk and molasses all at once, to the dry ingredients. stir dough for a scant 1 minute. drop by heaping tablespoons onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  • 3 bake for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
