Herb & Cheese Biscuits

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup fresh chives, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups grated old cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3/4 cup milk

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375f & line a baking sheet with parchment.
  • 2 mix dry ingredients in a large bowl; stir in herbs & 1 cup of the cheese.
  • 3 whisk egg & milk together in a small bowl; pour over the dry ingredients & stir until just combined.
  • 4 turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface; pat into a square that is approximately 8" and 2" thick.
  • 5 slice into 8 rectangular pieces about 4" x 2" & transfer to the baking sheet.
  • 6 brush with a little milk & sprinkle with remaining cheese; bake in oven until golden brown, approximately 18 to 20 minutes.
  • 7 although you can serve these at room temperature, i prefer them warm!
