Kalacs (hungarian Sweet Bread)

Ingredients
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 teaspoons yeast
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 10 cups flour
- 4 eggs
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3 1/2 cups milk
- beaten egg
Recipe
- 1 make a sponge dough from the 1 cup warm milk, 2 teaspoons dry yeast, 1 cup flour and 1 teaspoon sugar.
- 2 work together with hands and let rise.
- 3 mix in other ingredients and work until dough separates from hands and board.
- 4 let dough rise again until double its size.
- 5 place in two greased pans; brush top with beaten egg.
- 6 place in a 350 degree fahrenheit oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
- 7 after removing from oven, cover with damp towel and dry towel until cool. this will make a soft crust.
- 8 makes 2 pans.
